Fish based NPK liquid blood and bone fertiliser
NPK: 11-5-7
Nitrosol Oceanic is produced using hydrolysed deep-sea fish blood and bone together with trace elements and minerals to provide a rounded 11-5-7 NPK formulation.
Nitrosol-Oceanic is full of organic material which nurture and feed the microbiological activity in the soil. This in turn increases bacterial and fungal activity, cycling and earthworm count.
As a result you are likely to see an improvement in soil structure and increased availability of the nutrients, minerals and trace elements that are important to plant growth. Having been around for more than 50 years - you can trust the Nitrosol name.
Nitrosol Oceanic - Perfect for Pasture and Crops.
Being made from organic material from ocean sources deep sea fishing operations it is perfect for use on pastoral grazing land as well as in horticulture.
What's In Nitrosol Oceanic?
Nitrosol Oceanic is a fine suspension made using modern technology to produce a smooth liquid suspension containing the important nutrients in a form readily available to the plant. One of the main reasons that Nitrosol Oceanic works so well is that the NPK has been increased to 11-5-7 mainly by the use of amino acids which gives a great improvement in plant growth compared to the older lower NPK version.
This one-step organic based, colloidal liquid suspension contains;
- A balanced formulation of minerals and other trace elements to help assist with soil and plant deficiencies and imbalances.
- NPK of 11-5-7 which can be absorbed and utilised through both the foliage and the soil.
- A naturally occurring growth promotant to stimulate the plants to absorb and use all the available minerals and trace elements.
- Organic matter including amino acids, proteins, globulin, albumin and cholesterols to nurture and feed the soil biology.
How to Use Nitrosol Oceanic
Dilution with water is usually recommended to be 1:100. Make sure well agitated before mixing.
Some guidelines for mixing Nitrosol are below:
- 5ml (about 1 teaspoon) per 500ml of water. For home use use 5-10ml
- 20ml (about 4 teaspoons) per 2 litres of water
- 150ml (about 9 tablespoons) per 15 litres of water. A typical backpack sprayer.
- One litre per 100 litres of water
Pasture : Sheep & Beef
As Nitrosol Oceanic is fish based it is safe and approved for use on pasture to be consumed by ruminants such as sheep, cattle, goats, deer etc.
Use at the rate of 10 - 20 litres per hectare (4 - 8 litres per acre) during autumn and spring, Mix with sufficient water to ensure coverage of required amount of Nitrosol Oceanic per hectare. The more water able to be applied the better but depending upon your gear you can vary to suit your boom width, spray rate and spray speed. For ground boom spraying the dilution might be 1:10 - 1:50. Helicopter or fixed wing aircraft application might end up being as low as 1:1. Application of Nitrosol in the rain is ok.
Pasture : Dairy
Nitrosol Oceanic is ok to use on pasture grazed by dairy cows. Application rates are 15 - 25 litres -per hectare (6 - 10 litres per acre)once in spring and once in autumn.

Nurseries
If you want to use Nitrosol Original for germinating seeds, transplanting seedlings, planting out of cuttings or shrubs and trees or general repotting then mix Nitrosol with water at a 1:200 dilution. Use the diluted mix on seed beds at time of sowing. Repeat application weekly.
You can soak seedling in the diluted mix overnight prior to transplanting and then use the residual diluted mix on the seedling after planting. Use both around the root zone and on the foliage.
General Garden Use
For general use around garden on green vegetables, tomatoes, flowers, shrubs, fruit trees, lawns, vines house plants etc., mix Nitrosol at the recommended 1:200 dilution and use around the root zone and foliage. During times of rapid growth such as spring and Autumn apply weekly or at any time when plants are stressed. At other times monthly application is fine.
Orchards and Viticulture
Including pip fruit, stone fruit, grapes, olives, nuts, grapes, avocado etc. apply 1-3 times a year at the rate of 10-20 litres per hectare in a reasonable amount of water.
Whenever crop or plant protection chemicals are combined to be sprayed, add Nitrosol as the last ingredient to the spray mix at the recommended dilution rate of 1:100 or at 4 - 15 litres per hectare. See cautions below on mixing and compatability.
Glasshouse Fruit and Vegetables
Same as if used on fruit and vegetables outdoors. Great for lettuce, capsicums, chili, tomatoes, beans, cucumber and more.
Use the normal 1:100 dilution weekly or add to the spray tank as the last ingredient, with crop protection chemicals and spray to the drip point. See caution below.
If adding Into fertigation or liquid feed systems as a booster, add Nitrosol to the chemical liquid feed concentrate tank at the rate of 1 litre of Nitrosol per 150 litres of liquid feed concentrate.
Other Crops
Cotton, maize, corn, sorghum, canola, wheat, barley, tomatoes, etc.
As a booster, or to address limiting factors or stress, add Nitrosol to the spray tank at 1 - 5 litres per hectare. DO NOT exceed a dilution of greater than 1:100. Add to the spray tank as the last ingredient whenever crop or plant protection chemicals are applied. See caution below.
Mixing with weed sprays, pesticides and herbicides
Add Nitrosol to the spray tank at 1:100 last. When using selective herbicides it will help non-target plants to recover from the stress of the spray. Do a compatibility test first.
Compatibility Test if Mixing Nitrosol
Always check for chemical mix compatibility before using with other products. Mix up a small sample quantity in the same ratio as it is intended to be used. If the samples mix easily and stay in suspension, then further test by spraying onto a sacrificial plant or branch to identify any undesirable effects. Do this before widespread use on plants, trees, crops, etc.
To date Nitrosol Ltd have not identified any incompatibility with commonly used plants protection products in laboratory tests, however due to on-site variables such as water quality, new or changed chemical formulations, or changed mixtures of chemicals be sure to thoroughly test first and satisfy yourself as to suitability for mixing.
When used as directed Nitrosol Oceanic is environmentally friendly and is completely safe for bees, birds and butterflies.
Nitrosol is a registered tradename of Nitrosol Ltd.
