BIOTREAT TREE & SHRUB TABLETS

Slow Release Fertiliser Tablets – NPKS 17.5-7.6-8.7-3.4 (plus Mg 5.4)

BioTreat Tree & Shrub Tablets are 10g slow-release fertiliser tablets for trees, shrubs, hedges, ornamentals and natives. Each tablet carries a balanced blend of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sulphur and magnesium, plus the trace elements plants need for steady, long-term growth: iron, manganese, zinc, copper, boron and molybdenum.

They're placed close to the root zone at planting or pushed into the soil around established plants, where they break down gradually and feed the plant over time rather than in one hit.

Good for orchards, forestry blocks, vineyards, nurseries, lifestyle blocks, hedge plantings, and native or ornamental plantings. Just as handy for a single tree in a pot as a full row of new plantings.

One application at planting (or a top-up for established plants) takes the guesswork out of tree and shrub nutrition — no mixing, no repeat spraying, no measuring out liquid feed.

WARNING: this product is classified Reproductive Toxicity Category 2 (may damage fertility or the unborn child). Wear gloves and eye protection when handling, and wash hands after use. See Safety & Compliance below.

Best For / Ideal Uses
  • New plantings of trees, shrubs, hedges, natives and ornamentals
  • Established trees and shrubs that need a nutrient top-up
  • Potted plants, including trees and shrubs in containers
  • Orchards, forestry blocks, vineyards and nurseries
  • Lifestyle blocks and home gardens
How It Works

Each tablet is built from three main components: urea formaldehyde for slow-release nitrogen, potassium magnesium phosphate for phosphorus, potassium and magnesium, and sulphate for sulphur. A mineral blend adds iron, manganese, zinc, copper, boron and molybdenum.

Placed under the root ball or pushed into the soil near the root zone, the tablet breaks down gradually as soil moisture and microbial activity get to work on it. That means a steady supply of nutrients to the roots over time, rather than a single hit of fertiliser that leaches away or runs out.

Because the tablet sits solid until it starts breaking down, there's no risk of over-application from the tablet dissolving too fast, and no mixing or measuring required.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many BioTreat Tree & Shrub Tablets do I need for a new tree?

It depends on the plant's height at the time of planting. Small plants up to 30cm tall need 1 to 3 tablets, plants 30cm to 1 metre need 2 to 5 tablets, and anything over 1 metre takes 5 tablets or more. Place them just under the root ball at planting time.

Can I use these tablets on potted plants?

Yes. Push the tablets into the potting mix around the plant, using the same rate guide based on plant height.

How often do I need to reapply?

These are slow-release tablets, so one application at planting will feed the plant for an extended period without needing to reapply straight away. For an exact reapplication interval, check the current product label or get in touch with us.

Are these tablets safe to handle?

The product carries a Reproductive Toxicity Category 2 warning (suspected of damaging fertility or the unborn child), so it needs to be handled with care. Wear gloves and eye protection, avoid generating dust, wash your hands after handling, and keep tablets stored locked up and out of reach of children and animals. Full precautions are on the product label and Safety Data Sheet attached to this listing.
