Non-toxic wasp attractant for dome and bag traps

NoPests® Wasp Lure Refill is a specially formulated, non-toxic liquid attractant designed to lure and help control populations of Common and German wasps in New Zealand outdoor environments when used with compatible traps such as the NoPests® Wasp Dome Trap or disposable wasp bag traps.

This purpose-built wasp lure draws wasps into traps by mimicking attractive food odours that foraging wasps seek during the warmer months and early in spring as queens emerge. It is engineered to be highly attractive to target pest wasps while not attracting bees or Paper wasps, making it a smart choice for pest management around outdoor living areas, patios, sheds, farms, picnic sites and food preparation zones.

Available in convenient sizes (including 1 Litre and 5 Litre refill options), this lure is ideal for extended seasonal wasp control programs and repeated trap refills, enabling effective management of wasp activity at scale.

Used in conjunction with a reusable wasp trap, the NoPests® Wasp Lure Refill helps reduce local wasp numbers, improving comfort and safety for people spending time outdoors without the use of broad-spectrum sprays.

NoPests® Wasp Lure Refill works year-round, attracting both active summer wasps and emerging spring queens to help suppress new nests before they fully establish. Use it regularly in your wasp traps to maintain effective outdoor pest control around high-use spaces.

Compatible with both NoPests® Wasp Dome Traps (sold separately) and wasp bag traps.  Pour lure into the trap reservoir and hang in sunny areas where wasps frequent. Replace lure monthly or when low for ongoing attraction during peak seasons.

Directions for Use

NoPests® Wasp Lure Refill is designed for use with compatible wasp traps, including the NoPests® Wasp Dome Trap and disposable wasp bag traps.

How to Use

1. Open the trap according to the trap manufacturer’s instructions.

2. Pour the recommended amount of NoPests® Wasp Lure into the lure reservoir or bait chamber.

3. Reassemble the trap securely.

4. Hang or place the trap outdoors in an area where wasp activity is high.

Best Placement Tips

• Position traps away from people and food areas, ideally 5–10 metres from patios, decks or BBQs

• Hang traps near rubbish bins, compost areas, sheds, fences or fruit trees

• Place traps in sunny or semi-sunny locations where wasps are actively foraging

• For best results, deploy traps early in the season to target emerging queens before nests establish

Maintenance

• Check traps regularly and top up lure as required

• Replace the lure every 3–4 weeks, or sooner if diluted by rain or evaporation

• Empty traps when full and re-bait to maintain effectiveness throughout the season
