Q: Hi is gibber900  any good for use on normal household lawns that need fertilizer as some of the lawns I mow are very deficient?

A: Yes it definitely works on lawns.  I’ve even seen a lawn that was next to a house paddock sprayed with Gibber,  and every time the bloke turned the tractor at the fence, a fan-shaped of overspray went onto the edge of the lawn.   2 weeks later there were big lush green half-circles visible all along that side of the lawn!

Finding the best application rate will take a bit of experimentation though.  It’s applied to pasture at just 9g/hectare, so if you wanted to spray a law of say 30 x 30 metres (about one-tenth of a hectare) you’d be applying just one gram!  Hard to even measure that.  It won’t matter if you apply a higher rate (say 2g in that situation, instead of 1g), and you’ll get some added benefit, but applying any more that that will be a waste of money.

You can’t pre-mix Gibber  into a concentrate that you then dispense into a sprayer and top up with water only as you need it.  The product will lose potency if pre-mixed as a concentrate (or mixed at all, actually) for longer than a day or two.  So you’re just going to have to experiment a bit until you get a system figured out that suits you and your gear.  Some kind of tiny measuring spoon sounds like a good plan; something that you have determined works well at one spoon per knapsack, perhaps?

Sorry I can’t be more informative; if we were ever to market the product for lawn and garden use I think we’ll have to get a much lower concentration powder made (say 10-20% active instead of the present 90% active), to make the dispensing etc easier.
