When selecting a herbicide there are many factors to consider.  What weeds will it kill?  Is it pasture friendly?  Does it harm clover?  Often you might end up with 2 or 3 options that all might do the job so how do you choose? 

Well the one thing that often gets overlooked is the price.  Many might look at the 20L cost but this doesn’t really help as all herbicides have different application rates depending on the weed to be killed, the crop situation (pasture, maize, orchard etc.).  So I thought it might be handy to do a quick table based on current costs to give you an idea of what the actual cost per hectare of each of the main herbicides we produce and sell.


This blog post is intended as a guideline only and we recommend you discuss your exact requirement and situation to ensure you are using the best products for the job.  For instance, some herbicides will only be effective at certain times of the year.  Others might only work on seedlings or younger weeds.  Other products might need to be blended to ensure the best effects and of course, this would push up the price per hectare but it should give you a feeling of the rough costs.
