How to Clean Been There from your Spray Tanks

Cleaning your spray tank after using "Been There" products, particularly the red variant, can be a bit challenging due to its persistent staining properties. This issue is common across all red spray marker dyes in the market. However, there are effective methods to remove these stains and maintain the cleanliness of your spray tank.

The Natural Fading Process: If you’ve only used the red Been There product once, you might notice that the staining starts to fade naturally over a period of 2-4 weeks. This method is suitable if you don’t require immediate cleaning and can wait for the dye to diminish on its own.

Accelerated cleaning with sodium hypochlorite: For faster and more efficient cleaning, using a sodium hypochlorite solution is recommended. While we do not carry sodium hypochlorite products, you can easily obtain them. A product called C3 Chlorine, available from Farmsource or other farm stores, is a 140g/L sodium hypochlorite solution that works effectively for this purpose.

Also possibly useful to know that if you accidentally get some of the product on your carpet, a customer has reported steam cleaning did the trick.

While the strong dyes are essential for their effectiveness, these cleaning methods should mitigate any staining problems. This approach should also be effective for the blue Done That product, although this is less persistent than the red Been There product. This recommendation is specifically for Been There products. It may work with other red dye products on the market, but we recommend checking with the supplier. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, feel free to reach out.
