Super strength glyphosate gel designed for vines

Contains: 400g/L Glyphosate as the isopropylamine salt with only 0.5% APG surfactants

Targeted effective and convenient weed control designed for tough weeds and vines this is a super-strength glyphosate paste / gel.  Even though it is very strong the way it is used still makes it extremely eco-friendly so it is used regularly by contractors, environmental groups and many councils.

Similar or equivalent to:

  • Kiwicare (1) Weed Weapon (2) Invade Gel - although this is only 100g/L strength not 400g/L
  • Yates Zero Rapid Gel (3) - although this is only 40g/L strength so 10 times weaker than our 400g/L
  • RoundUp Gel (4)- although a gel this is very weak at only 7.2g/L so not really in the same league.

Specifically reformulated from a clear gel to a  green or blue gel to make it more visible when being used.  The dye is absorbed and not noticed within a day or so of application.

Why Use Cut'n'Paste Glimax Professional Glyphosate Weed Killing Gel

In spite of all the uninformed bad press about Glyphosate, it is still one of the safest and most effective herbicides on the market.  It is a non-selective herbicide meaning that it will kill most weeds and plants but because you are applying it in a safe and controlled way you are only killing exactly the plants and weeds that you select.  By using a glyphosate gel or glyphosate past it is even safer as it is only being applied to the one plant or weed that you want to control.

  • Very little if any of this easy to use high strength paste gets anywhere other than on the weed or plant you want to kill.
  • Glimax is deactivated by soil and does not have any residual activity in the soil.
  • No spray, fumes or mist to be inhaled or to drift onto unintended plants
  • A handy ready to use brush-on pack that can be refilled.
  • No mixing required.
  • A convenient refillable application pack

You asked for everything with one powerful gel.  Glimax Professional is the answer.  This is the strongest weed gel on the market with 450g/L of Glyphosate IPA salt but only 0.5% surfactant.

Directions for Use - Cut'n'Paste Glimax Professional

For woody or thick-stemmed weeds

1. Cut the weed down as close to the base as you can.

2. Immediately apply a thick layer of the gel onto the cut surfaces.  The herbicide will be drawn down into the plant's roots sealing the cut.

3. Leave it to die off.

For Leafy weeds

1. Using a glove hold the leaf of the weed.

2. Turn your Glimax Professional bottle upside down and using the brush squeeze and then brush the gel on the underside of the leaf.

3. Repeat this on several leaves

3. Leave it to die off.  This should generally take a week or two. If you accidentally brush it on the leaf of a plant you don't want to kill, wipe it off immediately and break off the affected leaves.

Weeds Controlled by Cut'n'Paste Weedkiller

Because Glyphosate is not selective the list of weeds controlled is huge and it will kill virtually any weeds including broadleaf weeds, woody weeds, bamboo and many more.  Don't confuse our higher strength with low strength products designed to kill smaller weeds in your home garden.  Our Cut'n'Paste Glimax Professional is more than 16 times stronger than RoundUp Gel (5) plus we have a bigger bottle

What weeds can you deal to? The list is almost endless. Don’t confuse Cut’n’Paste with Roundup Gel. Roundup Gel is designed to kill the weeds in your garden path. Cut’n’Paste has 60 times more active ingredient and will also kill your gorse and agapanthus and ginger, the list is endless. And at 3 times as much in the bottle it’s fantastic value for money.

There are more than 600 weeds and plants where it is likely to be effective but many of these can be controlled using Cut'n'Paste Original or even Cut'n'Paste Bamboo Buster

Perfect for contractors to use around conservation areas and natives and great on tough vines like Old Man’s Beard and things with small stems where you need to get the maximum herbicide into the system with limited available plant tissue to absorb it.

The photo shows how the gel holds to the cut end of a Japanese honeysuckle vine against a whiteywood tree.

Because we have almost no surfactant in the product (0.5% APG plant based) those possible harmful effects on geckos are avoided and the gel’s toxicity is kept to an absolute minimum.  Of course this is vital when you’re working in sensitive conservation situations and with environmentally conscious customers.  We have just a non toxic blue dye in this one to make it stand out in those situations where you are hunting through bush to find those pesky vines.

It’s a bit more expensive than our other weed killer gels and pastes but then you’d expect that for something this effective.

Common Questions about Cut'n'Paste Glimax Professional

How long does it take for the gel to be absorbed into the cut stem?

It depends on the time and the weather.  When it is warm and sunny the Glimax gel gets absorbed in up to 4 hours.  When it is a bit cooler or the weeds are in damp or sheltered conditions then it can take a few days.

What time of year can it be used?

In New Zealand you can apply the gel at any time but the effectiveness of Cut'n'Paste Glimax paste might be reduced a bit in the colder months.

How many weeds (stems) can I treat from one 450ml bottle of Glimax Professional?

You should be able to apply to around 240-250 cut stems assuming the diameter of the stem is around 25mm and you are applying a layer of gel around 4-5mm thick.

Can I apply Glimax when its raining?

Not recommended for a number of reasons.  Ideally you should not apply when there is risk of rain within 12-18 hours.  Ideally longer to give the herbicide gel a chance to be absorbed.  Also if it rains you run the risk of the gel being washed off onto non-target plants.

Is Glimax safe around children and pets?

The relatively small amount of active ingredient together with the relatively low toxicity and the small amount being applied to each stem means the product is generally pretty safe but it is still a harmful chemical and must be kept away from children.  Especially in the bottle.

Is Glimax safe around other plants?

Because you are applying directly to the weed you want to kill there is no spray drift but if you spill small amounts of the gel on non-target plants then they can be damaged.  This is the big advantage the Cut'n'Paste Gels though in that you can kill weeds easily without harming other plants and natives.

How often should I replace the brush?

Normally the brush will start to wear out between 5-7 applications so if you are refilling from 5L packs then it is a good idea to buy two brush sets every time you buy a 5L refill pack.

Are there any Glimax residue left in the soil?

Because you are applying to the plant directly there is generally no soil residues.  Any product that drops onto the soil is normally deactivated in the soil.
